I played last night for about an hour.
As soon as I logged in, it was clear from Corp chat that some sort of PvP op was brewing, since there were a bunch of "x"s (you put an "x" in corp chat to ask to join a gang).
Anyway, it was good experience - we ended up jumping from gate to gate, warping here and there. The reason it was good, is that we were all trying to do it AT THE SAME TIME (ie, as a fleet, as opposed to individually). To coordinate, we use voice commands that come over the speakers on my computer. My mic isn't working, so I can't ask questions or reply to questions, but that doesn't hamper me TOO much. I would like to get it fixed, tho.
The most exciting thing that happend, is that I targeted a hostile. One guy in our gang complained that it was boring - but that's how PvP in Eve can be...hours of waiting for the right moment, followed by minutes of combat excitement. I think it would be more constantly interesting if I flew covert ops (ie, a cloaked ship). They are very expensive (60 mil?), and can't generate money on their own - or even kill other ships on their own. They are only good for directing a fleet.
